Passive infinitive

La forma infinitiva compuesta "passive infinitive" se utiliza en algunas construcciones que emplean la voz pasiva. Es especialmente habitual su uso tras los verbos auxiliares ("may", "should", "could", etc.) para indicar qué es posible o correcto. Formación del "passive infinitive":
to be + past participle

Como ocurre con el "present infinitive", hay construcciones que requieren el uso del "passive infinitive" sin la partícula "to". Esto ocurre detrás de la mayoría de los auxiliares y modales, así como en otras instancias en que se emplean infinitivos sin "to".
